Hi, my name is Kate Lauren Thomas. And I am an on-camera host and producer of travel media. Above all, I’m a storyteller sharing my travel experiences and the stories of the people I meet to inspire others to travel themselves.
For over a decade, I have worked in television, film and web video production in various genres. I have a bachelors degree in film production from the University of Southern California and
a masters from NYU in broadcast journalism and documentary.
As far as my on-camera work, I have produced and hosted a documentary about salsa dancing for Current TV, as well as a series for The Huffington Post/AOL about generational trends with my aunt, Marlo Thomas. Also for Huffpo/AOL, I’ve appeared in travel tips videos as a travel expert. And of course, I host the travel web series, Travel with Kate.
In addition to producing and hosting travel videos, I am currently writing an anthology and self-help book to inspire young people in their 20′s and 30′s to travel.
Outside of my academic and professional endeavors, I have journeyed around the world to destinations in Europe, South America, the Middle East, Africa and the South Pacific. I studied abroad in Paris and Florence. I love salsa dancing. And I speak 4 languages.
At the heart of my endeavors, my mission is two-fold. I want to remain a life-long traveler. And I want to help people enrich their lives by breaking out of their communities, exploring the world and relishing meaningful life experiences.
