About

Hi, my name is Kate Thomas.  And I am an on-camera host, travel expert and producer of travel media.  Above all, I am a traveler and storyteller passionate about inspiring people to use travel as a tool for a more fulfilling life.

I graduated from film school at the University of Southern California and received a masters degree from NYU in broadcast journalism and documentary film.  For over a decade I have worked in television, film and web video production in various genres. And I am now finally focusing strictly on my passion for travel and culture. As far as my on-camera work, I have produced and hosted a documentary about salsa dancing for Current TV, as well as a series for AOL about generational trends with my aunt, Marlo Thomas.  I am currently writing a travel anthology and self-help book to inspire young people to travel. And I will soon be appearing in various travel web series.

Outside of my academic and professional endeavors, I have traveled around the world to destinations in Europe, South America, the Middle East, Africa and the South Pacific.  I studied abroad in Paris and Florence, and I speak 4 languages.

My mission is twofold.  I want to remain a life-long traveler.  And I want to help people enrich their lives by  breaking out of their communities, exploring the world and relishing meaningful travel experiences.
