Posh Cocktails in The Punch Room #London

Looking for a posh night out in London? If so, I have you covered! On a recent trip to my favorite city, I headed over to The London Edition which proved to be an elegant and hip destination for dinner and drinks. The hotel is located near Oxford Circus but far enough off the main drag to be out of sight of the average tourist. Upon entering the lobby, the tall, ornate ceiling, the large bar glowing with back-lit bottles of spirits, and the chic crowd were all telltale signs I’d found a popular spot for hip and upper-class London locals. On Travel with Kate, I have a rating system to review hotels, restaurants and other travel experiences. And I…

Travel with Kate and TripAdvisor Join Forces

The world’s largest travel site, TripAdvisor, had a question. And they sent me out to find the answers in this video shot in New York City. This marks the first of a new series I am hosting for the TripAdvisor Youtube Channel and business blog. TripAdvisor is a company with a duel mission. First, it enable each of us to plan our dream trips guided by the reviews of fellow travelers. Second, it provides the tourism industry access to millions of monthly TripAdvisor visitors. In this video, they sent me out to do a little market research for their business division. On behalf of their hoteliers, I asked travelers about their best hotel experiences. In these “on the street” interviews…

You go out into the hot desert and then you check in to a hotel that does everything possible to make you feel like you are at a beach resort – but there is no beach. And secluded with little distractions you are forced to relax and surrender to the tranquility of your surroundings. Over last weekend, I went to a family wedding in the California desert held at The Parker Palm Springs. Part historical momento and part LA hipster getaway spot, this hotel is a stunner. Prepare yourself for these photos!…

Private Cenotes and Jungle Lodging in Mexico

When delving a little deeper into life along the Mayan Riviera I found the wonderful Villas Balam-Ha – a bungalow hotel and villa tucked into the jungle. It is 2o minutes from Playa del Carmen, 15 from Tulum and five minutes from Akumal beach. It holds up to ten people and includes a pool, wi-fi, tv, and telephone. Be sure to check out all their photos because I didn’t take any of the villa itself. But I did make this video of my experience exploring the grounds. You are probably now wondering, “Ok, how can I stay at that place?” You can find it on Facebook here. From what I could gather, the property owners are Argentinian. So a little Spanish…
