The Cape Hotel in Cabo San Lucas – Stay or not stay?

If you’ve got a craving for great food and a luxurious beach vacation, The Cape Hotel in Cabo is for you. Just before the holidays I took a long weekend getaway with one of my dearest friends to Cabo. The trip was a perfect moment to reconnect – she lives over 3,000 miles from me! And we don’t get to hang as much as we crave. But this trip was a perfect girls getaway where we got to indulge in nature-filled activities and lounge around a luxury hotel. In this article, I’ll talk about our hotel. The Cape – A Thompson Hotel is nearly equidistant from Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo – the two cultural hubs most…

Learning the way of the sea turtle in Maui

It was a beautiful morning in Maui. The sun had already peaked up over the mountains to the East and a light, humid breeze rustled through the palm trees. I ate breakfast at the lovely buffet at the Fairmont Kea Lani at 8am. Papaya and strawberries. Toast with smoked salmon, cream cheese and capers. A spinach, mushroom omelet. A pot of coffee. And by 8:45, I was driving down the road to Makena Landing Park (less than 10 minutes away) to go for a kayak and snorkel with Maui Kayaking Adventures. Despite this idyllic morning, I was feeling tense. Just after my kayaking tour, I needed to hustle back to the hotel for hair and makeup for a video I…

An Introduction to Gargano, #Italy

I just came home from Gargano, Italy, a unique corner of one of my favorite countries. And I have to say, the region impressed me well beyond my expectations. If you look at a map, it is easy to spot Gargano because it makes up the little knob of land that juts out at the spur of the boot of Italy. It is a popular domestic vacation destination for Italians. And this makes the region feel rather authentic, as opposed to other destinations in the country popular with tourists from around the world. And you know me, I am all about getting an authentic, local experience! Gargano has stunning beaches, charming medieval towns, an enchanting forest, grottos, islands to explore,…

A Trip to the Grand Canyon from Las Vegas!

Vegas. At every turn there is something that will awe you, overwhelm you or at least cause you to shake your head in disbelief. It is the ultimate saturation of the senses. But however grand Las Vegas is – the Grand Canyon will impress you more. Last week, I went to Vegas with a friend from out of town – from France to be exact. And he made a request. He said, we must also visit the Grand Canyon. He could not possibly go back to Europe and explain that when traveling to Las Vegas he hadn’t also visited the Grand Canyon. As an American, or rather as a Los Angeles native, I reasoned with him saying, nobody from here…
