Right now I am hard at work, juggling different travel-centric projects. I am writing a travel anthology and self-help book to inspire young people to travel.
I will soon be appearing in various travel web series. Those series include a cultural guide for travelers. The first location is Paris, France! Another series provides travel tips where I give advice about everything from how to get an authentic experience to how to get the best deals on airfare and lodging. And you will be able to see these series right here on TravelwithKate.com.
This year I’m hoping to create some videos on a trip to India, Indonesia and Japan. Keep checking back for updates on those and other impromptu adventures. A trip to Oaxaca, Mexico is also in the works.

Just prior to dedicating all efforts towards my travel endeavors, I worked with my aunt, Marlo Thomas, on the AOL website MarloThomas.com where I was the head video producer on all video series that appear on the site and the Marlo Thomas channel on the Huffington Post. I worked on the site for over a year from its inception helping to form the brand, mission and design of the website. When I headed the video department at MarloThomas.com,
I produced and directed six weekly video series. The line-up is below. While I loved each series, my favorite to produce was the series “Auntie Marlo and Kate” which gave me the chance to co-host a web show with my aunt.
Web Series for MarloThomas.com:
“Auntie Marlo and Kate” features Marlo and Kate interviewing women from different generation about the same topics. This series helps us bridge the gap between generations.
On Mondays, the series “Mondays with Marlo” airs, featuring Marlo Thomas along with an celebrity expert guest addressing viewer comments in a 30-minute, live web cast.
In another series, “Your Turn”, Marlo tells a story from her life and asks viewers to write in about similar experiences they have had in their lives.
“The Hero Next Door” is a series that profiles extraordinary women around the country. These women are giving back to their communities in profound ways.
The series “Girls Night Out” is a lively series where Marlo spends an evening with a group of women who dish about trials and triumphs in their lives.
Lastly, there is “I Have To Ask,” featuring Marlo asking people her burning questions.

Before going to journalism school, I worked in television in many supporting positions including my job as an assistant to the president of Imagine Entertainment Television (producer of 24 and Arrested Development). During undergrad, I produced an independent film called King Of Central Park staring Henry Winkler and Jeffrey Tambor that screened in festivals across the country, including the Tribeca Film Festival.
I also produced, directed and hosted a short documentary about salsa dancing in Los Angeles that sold to Current TV. The film airs regularly on Current TV and is available on iTunes as part of the “Best of Current TV” catalog.
While attending NYU journalism, I produced my thesis documentary about young, undocumented immigrants in the United States and the Dream Act.
