Americans in London (VIDEO)

I know. These days on Travel with Kate, it’s been all London, London, London.  Well, that’s because I have formed a mild obsession about the place. And in this video, I indulge my fantasy of moving there by asking a group of American women living in London about their experiences moving to the city. Take a look and tell me what you think.

The Meet-up group featured in the video can be found HERE if you are in London and want to join them.

I actually went to two gatherings of this group – one simply to meet fellow Americans in London and the other to film. The first meet-up took place in a rather mellow pizza restaurant in Spitalfields, East London. The women there had a wider demographic as far as age. This second meeting I filmed at was a pretty young group as you can see.

Overall, the feedback from the girls encouraged my obsession with the city. But our conversations didn’t clear up my concerns about visas and work opportunities. Beyond cultural assimilation and reasons to love London, the practicals are a whole other beast.

Very nice! I really liked the point about no preservatives in the food. The English and Europeans live for the day!!

Yes I can see how the particulars would be a beast.

the women stressed weather a lot and no family too

yet they seemed happy. Didn’t know about the preservatives.

I know! The preservatives are a bigg-ey. I experienced the produce there as being all together more flavorful and I lost weight even without trying. Makes you think!
