Dublin Local Ambush (VIDEO)

In Dublin, I was stiffed! Ya, that’s right. My local had to cancel on me, last-minute. And because I only had a very brief amount of time in the Irish capital, I decided to try something new – ambush total strangers and see if someone might be my local guide.

I believe, in the end, I fared pretty well. What do you think?

Of course, I need to say THANK YOU to dear Lidja! She was so kind and generous to take me around – giving quite a few hours of her day. The places she showed me were great! And wow, did I luck out to get such an engaging person. She isn’t Irish but she is a Dublin local with a passion for the city. It’s hard to beat that.

And I have to say a big thank you to Simon and his friends for really being great criac! Criac is an Irish term for “good fun.” You guys made the editing process of this video very entertaining for me. Cheers to you!

Hi Carole. I hope you liked the video! I’ve edited the post – it now includes links to the websites of each venue. The mystery house is called The House and it is at 27 Lower Leeson St just south of St Stephen Green. Will you be traveling to Dublin any time soon?

Hi Kate. I just checked and don’t see the website url. Can you post it here? I think it might be very near the Leeson Bridge Guesthouse, where I stayed recently for the TBEX meeting in Dublin. Were you there? It will be a while before I go back! Love it there, but what a long trip from San Francisco!

Should be there now! Yes, I was at TBEX as well. The whole trip made me fall in love with Dublin.
