To be honest, I was not dying to try fish and chips when I arrived in London. But food critic, Daniel Young showed me the light and the subtle nuances of why Fish and Chips are still worth it. The trick is finding the chippies – that’s local lingo for fish and chip restaurants – that are up to par. And lucky for us, Daniel has traversed the city of London seeking out the best of the best. See, Daniel is a long-time food critic and writer who has produced five cookbooks, three restaurant guides, dozens of magazine articles, 100s of newspaper restaurant reviews as well as dining and tasting events in Europe and the US.…

I know. These days on Travel with Kate, it’s been all London, London, London. Well, that’s because I have formed a mild obsession about the place. And in this video, I indulge my fantasy of moving there by asking a group of American women living in London about their experiences moving to the city. Take a look and tell me what you think.…
In the British capital, I got in touch with Sarah Bennetto, a popular comedian and radio DJ. Like I do with all the locals I connect with in my videos, I asked her to show me a slice of her city that most visitors probably don’t know about. Initially, we were going to go to her favorite coffee shops in East London. But then we got to talking and realized that wasn’t nearly as exciting as showcasing her growing list of great spots to make-out around town. It wasn’t easy to narrow down her selections. After all, London is a very romantic city. But I think we did a good job. Watch the video and tell me what you think?…
In London, I met up with James Dowdeswell, a British comedian who actually grew up in a pub! The plan was to sample a few brews at his favorite neighborhood boozers in East London but our pub crawl got interrupted! And I’m glad it did. Watch to find out why. And check out James’ very funny stand-up comedy in this video below! Come take a listen to my recent appearance on BlogTalkRadio! I was interviewed about my experience as the on-camera host of a new video series and ebook (coming out soon) called, Travel the Local Way. In my segments, I show the viewers around Los Angeles from my local perspective. We shot at El Matador Beach, hiking with The Tree People, shopping in WeHo, dining in downtown, and so much more. It was a blast to shoot!…
I’m in London right now. And as I walk through the streets I can’t help but to mimic the accents I hear. But the honest truth is that I’m not so good at it! In an attempt to get a London accent right, I took a lesson from a dialect coach. Watch the video. Follow along. And try to get it too!! Here’s the script in case it will help: Excuse Me. Can I ask you something? I’m looking for a great restaurant nearby. Something inexpensive but delicious. A real local find. In this video, I feature another conversation I had with Sarah where she explains how there isn’t just one English accent but rather quite a few — LIKE…
