Hi, from Kauai

Right now, as I type, I am in Hanalei Bay, Kauai on a family vacation. Hanalei Bay is an ideal Hawaiian getaway destination on the Northern coast of the island because it is devoid of most large chain hotels while it still caters generously to the many tourists who pass through the area year-round.…

It’s a Wrap!

As you know from reading my blog, I’ve been shooting for a travel app called, The Local Way. Over the past two weeks, my co-host, Jax Austin, and I have been showing the cameras around our Los Angeles.…

Salvadorian Food at the Grande Central Market in Downtown LA

When I was going to the University of Southern California, I lived in downtown Los Angeles. At the time, the area was just starting to undergo a revival. There were a few new restaurants and bars popping up. Old warehouses and office buildings were beginning to be converted into lofts. I haven’t spent much time downtown since my college years, so when I hung out there over the last couple weeks, it was really fun to see how far it has come. I would definitely recommend checking it out if you are in LA – especially the Art District. Despite all the new additions, I couldn’t help but to revisit one of my favorite places that hasn’t changed much for…

Behind the Scenes: LA, The Local Way (VIDEO)

Above is little video I put together from my shoot yesterday for a travel guide called The Local Way. In this video, we are in Downtown LA at one of my favorite restaurants, Church and State. The Local Way is a travel video guide series that will be available as a smartphone app very soon. The goal of the series is to give travelers an inside look into major cities around the world by showing restaurants and activities that locals love and that you likely won’t find otherwise. I’m one of the hosts for the LA guide.…

El Gran Cenote in Tulum, Mexico (VIDEO)

Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Akumal and Tulum are popular destinations in Mexico on the Yucatan Peninsula. Along the Mayan Riviera, as it is called, the main attraction is the beach with it’s picturesque, white sand and turquoise waters. Then there are ancient Mayan ruins to check out and quite the nightlife scene in Playa del Carmen and Cancun. But there is something else you really shouldn’t miss when you visit the area. Here is a video from my trip to Tulum. If you are planning a trip, you are probably now wondering, “Where are these cenotes and how do I get to them?” Here you go… Below find a report I copied and pasted from docancun.com detailing the most impressive…

Filming in Los Angeles

The blog has been a little quiet this week because I am shooting a new video series! A video travel guide called The Local Way is featuring me. In it, I show you around my hometown of Los Angeles from a local perspective. Yesterday we shot in Downtown LA. And in the picture below I was at Eat. Drink. Americano, a restaurant with delicious food and imported beer on tap. And later…
