Kate’s Travel Playlist – Track 4: “Cangote” (Music)

I don’t know what she is saying. And I don’t care. I just love this woman’s voice and silky smooth rhythms.

This week I am featuring the Brazilian tunes of:

Ceu

When her album, Varagosa, came out in 2009, Clive Davis said, “Ceu has put Brazilian music back on the map.” And I am inclined to agree with him!

Brazilian music HAS been on he map at least since Jobim and has never left. Just check out this Ivan Lins tune before 2009 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mQ2Gjo0IkPQ, or his “bonito” or any of his “moons”.
Brazilian music like soccer, has not been able to take off in the States and other countries for a number of reasons , but the quality of both is outstanding, like u just discover in your Ceu sample.
