Private Cenotes and Jungle Lodging in Mexico

When delving a little deeper into life along the Mayan Riviera I found the wonderful Villas Balam-Ha – a bungalow hotel and villa tucked into the jungle. It is 2o minutes from Playa del Carmen, 15 from Tulum and five minutes from Akumal beach. It holds up to ten people and includes a pool, wi-fi, tv, and telephone. Be sure to check out all their photos because I didn’t take any of the villa itself. But I did make this video of my experience exploring the grounds. You are probably now wondering, “Ok, how can I stay at that place?” You can find it on Facebook here. From what I could gather, the property owners are Argentinian. So a little Spanish…

Traveling + Friends = GOOD

Our friendships are a very important component to our lives that is all too often pushed down our priority list. Maybe it is because we are overwhelmed at work, plunge into romantic relationships, have children or move away. Whatever the reason, many of us have a nagging feeling that we would like to reconnect with our friends. And the question is, what do we do when a comment on Facebook – or even a lunch date or a drink – just doesn’t feel like enough? That’s right. An Introduction to Tulum, Mexico (Photos)

And it has stayed off the radar, as far as a place to stay, for the average tourists who come to the region. But lately, Tulum has been popping up on blogs, in newspapers and magazines more than ever before. And if you ask me, you better get down there to experience it before it gets spoiled.…

Sunrise in Tulum, Mexico (VIDEO)

I am not sure what it is, but on my recent trip, I was compelled to get up for sunrise almost every day. And I am not normally an early riser. One morning I brought my camera out to capture the beauty. [youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3n4TXpxSQxo&w=560&h=315]…

Ibiza the Beautiful

Ibiza, Spain is an incredible place on this planet that made an indelible mark on my life. It is known internationally as a party destination, like Mykonos or Miami. And, because of its rep, many people rule it out when planning their vacations.  But that’s not the part of the island that interests me most. It is the extraordinary people and the natural beauty of Ibiza that has brought me back time and again. Ibiza sits in an island chain off the east coast of Spain, near Valencia.  And it is beautiful with white sandy beaches, turquoise waters and lush mountainsides. It is a perfect spot for beach vacations when sunbathing and chilling out is your MO. There are small…
